In this research, children's spatial experiences were analyzed in relation to the perception of security, the rooting and the possibility of autonomous and daily displacement of boys and girls between 9 and 12 years old from Morelia, Mexico. For this purpose, a questionnaire about the perception of security was applied to 279 children. Interviews were conducted and mental maps were designed with children in three urban areas, differentiated by level of schooling, quality of life and income. The children's own room and the school are the places with the greatest possibility of play and perception of spatial security. In mobility, girls used 30% of the space used by boys, which limits the development of physical, social and citizenship skills...
