It is the purpose of this thesis to explore the place of Art Therapy in museums and to\ud identify the areas of importance in the development and implementation of Art Therapy\ud programs in museums. The mission of museum education has evolved from providing\ud educational services through the display of art collections to cultivating interactions for\ud the purpose of therapeutic growth. The Art Therapy field fits into this vision, however\ud few museums have made use of it. Through the review of existing literature, and three\ud case studied museums, this thesis provides a well-rounded examination of how to\ud develop and implement an Art Therapy program in a museum setting
