14 Hundred 40: an analysis of writing, acting, and producing a short film about a long journey home

This paper is a reflection and analysis of my journey writing, acting, and producing my short film, <italic>14 Hundred 40</italic>. I discuss not only the evolution of the script and my character, Birdie, but also the inspirations behind the project. I explain, furthermore, each production phase and process, followed by an outline of research undertaken in the creation of Birdie and her story. I discuss how the film was received at the initial screening, while also evaluating my feelings about the finished product as a whole. Finally, I discuss the future of <italic>14 Hundred 40</italic> and my professional and academic aspirations in light of what I have learned at California State University, Los Angeles
