The objective of this study was to discover how we as meXican women, a\ud hybrid of Mexican and Xicana, construct our identity. I collected personal narratives\ud because past literature has presented identity as a binary process, focused solely upon\ud either the Mexicana or Xicana experience. Three qualitative approaches were used for\ud this study: auto-ethnography, in-depth interviewing, and storytelling. These methods\ud were purposefully employed because they follow from a critical race and Xicana\ud feminist standpoint as a methodology that allowed the personal narrative to take\ud center stage as a means of resistance!
