Aprendizagem motora: o papel do córtex motor primário

Estudos neurobiológicos mostram que o córtex motor primário (M1) está mais associado à organização dos elementos específicos do movimento. Apesar de não utilizarem tarefas específicas para avaliar a aprendizagem da dimensão absoluta da habilidade, esses estudos têm observado que força, direção e amplitude são elementos organizados pelo M1. Assim, o objetivo do estudo é avaliar o papel do M1 na aprendizagem das dimensões da habilidade motora, partindo da hipótese que o M1 está mais associado à aprendizagem da dimensão absoluta da habilidade. Quarenta e oito participantes foram distribuídos em 3 grupos de prática (n=16): grupo de prática constante com estimulação transcraniana por corrente contínua ETCC (GPC-ETCC), grupo de prática constante placebo (GPC-P) e grupo de prática aleatória (GPA). Foi aplicado uma estimulação elétrica (1mA) sobre o M1 no GPC-ETCC por 20 minutos antes da prática. O grupo GPC-P recebeu somente 36 segundos de estimulação e o GPA não recebeu estimulação. Na fase de aquisição a tarefa consistiu em realizar uma seqüência de toques em um teclado numérico em 120 tentativas nos tempos alvo absoluto de 700, 900 e 1.100 ms., e, em um tempo relativo entre as teclas (22.2% de 2 para 8, 44.4% de 8 para 6 e 33.3% de 6 para 4). Os testes de retenção e transferência foram realizados 24 horas ao fim da aquisição, constituído por 12 tentativas cada. O teste de transferência foi realizado com um novo tempo absoluto de 1.300 ms. Os resultados mostraram que não houve diferença entre grupos nas medidas de erro relativo (ER) e erro absoluto (EA) na retenção e para o ER na transferência. Entretanto, no teste de transferência no EA o grupo GPC-ETCC apresentou melhor desempenho que o GPA. Portanto, a hipótese levantada que o M1 estaria mais envolvido na dimensão absoluta que na dimensão relativa, foi confirmada no presente estudo. As alterações promovidas pela ETCC nos mecanismos de aprendizagem motora parecem ser mais efetivas do que as alterações geradas pela prática aleatória na parametrização do movimento.Behavioral studies have shown a more effective role of the less repetitive practice in the learning of the absolute dimension of the skill compared to the relative dimension. The GPC-TDCs received electrical stimulation (1mA) over M1 for 20 minutes before practice. The group CPC-S received only 36 seconds of stimulation and GRP did not receive stimulation. In the acquisition phase, participants performed 120 trials of a sequence typing on the numeric keyboard with absolute criterions time of 700, 900 and 1,100 ms and relative criterions time among keys (22,2% from 2 to 8, 44% from 8 to 6 and 33.3% from 6 to 4). The retention and transfer tests were performed 24 hours after acquisition phase, each test consisting of 12 trials. The transfer test was performed with an absolute criterion time of 1,300ms. In the retention test, the results did not show significant difference among groups in both the relative error measure (ER) and the absolute error (EA). In transfer test, significant difference was not found in ER. However, the CPG-TDCs presented lower level of error compared to the RPG in the EA measure. Therefore, the hypothesis that the M1 would be more associated with the absolute dimension than the relative dimension was confirmed in the present study.
