Ensino de leitura: o papel da imagem na compreensão do gênero anúncio publicitário

O objetivo deste trabalho justifica-se por considerar imprescindível que a escola dê espaço para os textos que apresentam linguagem mista, já que eles circulam socialmente e os alunos precisam lê-los e compreendê-los a todo o momento. É necessário que a escola ensine que as imagens não estão presentes nos textos apenas para ilustrá-los, na verdade estão recheadas de informações e intenções que precisam ser compreendidas. Em muitos casos, é essencial que os alunos leiam a imagem para compreender o que o texto diz globalmente, para compreender seus efeitos. Busca-se responder a seguinte pergunta: até que ponto atividades sistematicamente orientadas em sala de aula podem contribuir para que o aluno do Ensino Fundamental construa sentidos e perceba efeitos de sentido na leitura de anúncios publicitários que se utilizam de linguagem mista e se constitua como um leitor crítico? A hipótese que temos é a de que com atividades sistematicamente orientadas pelo professor, por meio de perguntas sobre a imagem e sobre o texto dos anúncios publicitários, os alunos conseguem ampliar sua compreensão global dos textos e perceber os efeitos deles decorrentes, e assim, podem ser leitores mais autônomos e críticos. A coleta dos dados é feita em uma escola pública no município de Belo Horizonte. O corpus da pesquisa é constituído por questionário, teste diagnóstico sobre a leitura de anúncios publicitários lidos sem a mediação do professor e teste de verificação de leitura de anúncios publicitários lidos depois da leitura mediada de textos semelhantes pelo professor. A mediação recorre a roteiros para leitura de imagens em anúncios publicitários propostos por Santaella (2012), como: a) o ponto de vista das qualidades visuais, dos índices e das convenções culturais; b) estratégias comunicativas da linguagem publicitária: sugestão, persuasão e sedução. Recorre, ainda, às estratégias de leitura para antes durantes e depois da leitura, propostos por Solé (1998). São feitas análises comparativas das capacidades acionadas pelos alunos antes e depois da mediação do professor. As análises são feitas considerando a linguagem enquanto interação, a leitura enquanto um processo social e cognitivo e a intervenção/mediação enquanto o uso de estratégias que mobilizam capacidades ainda não acionadas pelos alunos. Toma-se com referencial teórico autores como Bakhtin ([1952/1953] 2003), Cafiero (2005, 2010), Kleiman (2004, 2013), Lara (2010), Santaella (2007, 2012), Solé (1998), Vygotsky (1991, [1984] 2007), entre outros. Os resultados revelam que os alunos aprendem quando há ensino, quando há mediação. Os testes de verificação de leitura dos anúncios publicitários evidenciam que os alunos mobilizam mais capacidades leitoras quando leem textos semelhantes depois da mediação do professor. Além disso, evidencia-se também que atividades de mediação que recorrem a roteiro de leitura de imagens colaboram para a compreensão global dos anúncios publicitários, tornando os alunos leitores mais proficientes.This research finds that the paper elementary school students attribute to the image in reading commercials and intervenes in the process of understanding these students to contribute to broaden their skills as readers. The objective of this work is justified because it considers essential that the school give space to the texts that have mixed language, since they circulate socially and students need to read them and understand them at all times. It is necessary that the school teaches that the images are not present in the texts only to illustrate them actually are full of information and intentions that need to be understood. In many cases, it is essential that students read the image to understand what the text says globally, to understand its effects. The aim is to answer the following question: to what extent systematically oriented activities in the classroom can contribute to the student of elementary school build senses and realize effects of meaning in reading commercials that use mixed language and is constituted as a critical reader? The hypothesis we have is that with activities systematically guided by the teacher, by asking questions about the image and the text of advertisements, students can broaden their global understanding of the texts and understand the effects deriving therefrom, and thus can be more autonomous and critical readers. Data collection is done in a public school in the city of Belo Horizonte. The corpus of the research consists of questionnaire, diagnostic test about reading advertisements read without the mediation of the teacher and read verification test commercials read after reading mediated similar texts by the teacher. Mediation uses scripts to read images in advertisements proposed by Santaella (2012) as: a) the point of view of visual qualities, the indices and cultural conventions; b) communication strategies of advertising language: suggestion, persuasion and seduction. Refers also to the reading strategies to Durantes before and after the reading, proposed by Solé (1998). comparative analysis capabilities driven by the students before and after the teacher mediation are made. The analyzes are made considering the language as interaction, reading as a social and cognitive process and the intervention / mediation as the use of strategies that mobilize not driven capabilities by students.
