Influência da taxa de infestação de Limnoperna fortunei no aumento da perda de carga em sistemas hidráulicos

Essas perdas ocorrem no rotor, no sistema distribuidor, na caixa espiral e no tubo de sucção. Sofrendo grande influência do projeto e do tipo de material utilizado na fabricação. No caso a variação da rugosidade superficial pode provocar um impacto significativo no rendimento das turbinas. Dentro desse contexto os eventos de bioincrustação de Limnoperna fortunei, L. fortunei, popularmente conhecido como mexilhão dourado, provocam um aumento da rugosidade superficial, causando a elevação da perda de carga e redução de eficiência do sistema. Este trabalho apresenta o resultado de uma pesquisa que permite estimar a influência dessa bioincrustação em sistemas hidráulicos (canal de adução, caixa espiral e tubo de sucção em uma pequena turbina Francis com diversas alturas de queda (15 a 200m), com vazões nominais variando de 7,38 m3/s a 0,58 m3/s, e potência de 1000 kW. O efeito da bioincrustação no rotor da turbina não foi estudado uma vez que as velocidades de passagem no seu interior são superiores ao limite de arrancamento que foi considerado como de 4,1 m/s. A determinação das perdas de cargas ocasionada pelas camadas de incrustação de L. fortunei, foi inicialmente calculada qual a máxima espessura de incrustação possível, em função da velocidade de escoamento, de forma que L. fortunei, consiga se manter incrustado. Em seguida calculou-se o fator de perda de carga (f) para cada seção dos componentes estudados, levando em consideração a presença ou ausência de incrustação do molusco. A ausência de incrustação foi limitada às regiões com velocidades de escoamento superior a 4,1 m/s. Com base no fator de perda de carga f, foi determinado o aumento da perda de carga, decorrente do número de camadas de incrustação. Os resultados alguns esperados outros não mostram que: i) A incrustação de L. fortunei, ocasiona o aumento da velocidade de escoamento de forma irregular nos componentes estudados; ii) A incrustação também ocasiona a redução da capacidade de recuperação de energia no tubo de sucção; iii) Para uma situação de incrustação de L. fortunei, em cinco camadas, tem-se que a perda de carga na caixa espiral e no tubo de sucção dobra de valor em relação a perda de carga sem incrustação; iv) O aumento da perda de cargas decorrente da incrustação nesses componentes, mostra a necessidade de se proceder a operações regulares de desinfestação de L. fortunei, nessa turbina bem como indica a importância de se avaliar o impacto da infestação em todo sistema de geração da usina.The efficiency of a Francis turbine is related to the internal losses of the machine. Within this context the events of Bioincrustation fouling of Limnoperna fortunei, L. fortunei, popularly known as golden mussel, produce an increase in surface roughness, causing high head loss and reduced efficiency of the system. This paper presents the results of a search that allows estimating the influence of this Bioincrustation in hydraulic systems (adduction channel, spiral case and suction pipe in a small 15 to 200 metter Francis turbine, with a nominal flow varying from 7.38 m3/s to 0.58 m3/s, and 1000 kW power. The effect of biofouling on the turbine rotor has not been studied since the flow velocities inside the turbine rotor are higher than the pullout limit of 4.1 m/s. The determination of the head loss caused by the incrustation layers L.fortunei, it was initially calculated what maximum thickness of scale possible is, depending on the flow rate, so that L.fortunei, remains embedded. Then, it was calculated the head loss factor (f) for each section of the components studied, taking into consideration the presence or absence of incrustation of the mollusk. The absence of incrustation was limited to regions with flow speeds greater than 4.1 m/s. Based on the "f", it was given the increase in head loss, resulting from the number of incrustation layers. Some other expected results do not show that: i) incrustation of L.fortunei, causes the increased irregular flow rate of in both components studied; ii) incrustation also causes the reduction in the capacity of energy recovery in the suction pipe; iii) In a situation of L.fortunei, incrustation in five layers, there is head loss in spiral case and in the suction pipe the value is doubled in relation to head loss without incrustation; iv) increasing head loss due to incrustation in these components, shows the need for regular operations of L.fortunei, pest control in this turbine as well as indicates the importance of assessing the impact of the infestation throughout the plant's generation system
