Due to the substantial increase in greenhouse gasses, and the limited availability of fossil fuels, the implantation of bio-fuels is crucial to minimizing the environmental impact of aviation practices. The goal of this study is to research the combustion characteristics of bio-fuels within a gas turbine combustion chamber. The study will comprise of experimental, numerical, and design subsections. The experimental study will utilize a small scale gas turbine, designed by Turbine Technologies in order to gain knowledge and experience with gas turbines.
