This study looked at whether there is a higher frequency of children with WISC-III\ud Verbal IQ at least ten points higher than Performance IQ placed in classrooms for\ud emotionally disturbed students rather than language disordered students. The basis for\ud this research was derived from previous studies that report a significant, positive\ud relationship between children with a Nonverbal Learning Disorder profile and social-emotional\ud disturbance. Results of this study were not sufficient to establish a solid\ud connection between patterns in IQ discrepancies and type of classroom placement. Thus,\ud helpful recommendations for further research were noted
