The observations and analysis of several of their issues and comparison with the description made during the XXVII (2007) Folk Festival, shape the methodological framework adopted for this work. The party of the bois-bumbás is organized and promoted by the Municipality of Fonte Boa, along with financial support from the State Government, through its Department of Culture, small investment companies, sales of CDs and cabins by the associations, representing other sources of income for the event. The party has provided not only the mobilization of considerable portion of the population fonteboense, but also from neighboring municipalities and Jutaí Maraã, Tefé, Alvarães, and rural communities, which often form tribes to directly participating in presentations and shoot the Corajoso and Tira-Prosa. The circularity of people and different experiences have provided the diffusion of the party and added to it new ways of "doing" with the use of innovative materials, modern techniques and constant exchange of "artistic knowledge." This event is recorded to be broadcast by television networks such as Amazon Sat, TV Rio Negro, and radio programs and Internet in the Upper and Middle Solimões. Considering the writings of Clifford Geertz (2003), the interpretation of culture has a character uniquely hermeneutic, starting from an intense contact relationship between the researcher and what is searched. Would undertake a "reading" (interpreting) the meanings that the subjects themselves "fall" in their actions and social behaviors. We tried to make the ethnography of the party of the oxen-bumbás and interpret their meaning for people who take part directly or indirectly from the festive event. As a "total social fact" that brings together a set of social institutions, the party of the oxen shows various forms of artistic production, highlighting the continuities and symbolizations perceived cultural manifestation of this historical roots. Good source as a city without many socio-economic perspective, marked by conflicts between political factions, the party seeking a way to steer development where exoticization culture through representational discourses present in the melodies, themes and allegories of each bumbá, fall within the process of "spectacle" of the party. It is inseparable from the movement of movings the city itself, the process of "detraditionalization" with the recovery of traditional cultural elements and modern, real and potential, before the dispute between the towns of the Amazon. The party of the bumbás presents itself today as a product of mass consumption, but, above all, represents a mirror before which the identity fonteboense is seen and recognized.O objeto de estudo dessa dissertação é a festa dos bois-bumbás realizada anualmente no primeiro final de semana do mês de julho na cidade de Fonte Boa, interior do Estado do Amazonas. As observações e as análises de várias de suas edições e a comparação com a descrição realizada durante o XXVII (2007) Festival Folclórico, configuram o arcabouço metodológico adotado para este trabalho. A festa dos bois-bumbás é organizada e promovida pela Prefeitura Municipal de Fonte Boa, juntamente com o apoio financeiro do Governo Estadual, através de sua Secretaria de Cultura, pequenos investimentos de empresas, vendas de CDs e camarotes por parte das agremiações, representam as demais fontes de renda para a realização do evento. A festa vem proporcionando a mobilização não somente de considerável parcela da população fonteboense, mas também dos municípios vizinhos como Jutaí, Maraã, Tefé, Alvarães, além das comunidades rurais que, não raro, formam tribos para participarem diretamente das apresentações dos bois Corajoso e Tira-Prosa. A circularidade de pessoas e experiências diferentes tem proporcionado a difusão da festa, bem como agregado a ela novas maneiras de fazer com o uso de materiais inovadores, técnicas modernas e troca constante de saberes artísticos . O evento é gravado para ser transmitido por redes de TV como Amazon Sat, TV Rio Negro, e programas de rádio e Internet da região do Alto e Médio Solimões. Tendo em vista os escritos de Clifford Geertz (2003), a interpretação da cultura tem um caráter singularmente hermenêutico, partindo-se de uma intensa relação de contato do pesquisador com aquilo que é pesquisado. Seria realizar uma leitura (interpretação) dos significados que os próprios sujeitos inscrevem em suas ações e condutas sociais. Procurou-se realizar a etnografia da festa dos bois-bumbás e interpretar seus significados para as pessoas que tomam parte direta ou indiretamente do evento festivo. Como um fato social total que congrega um conjunto de instituições sociais, a festa dos bois demonstra formas de produção artística diversas, chamando a atenção as continuidades e simbolizações percebidas nesta manifestação cultural de raízes históricas. Fonte Boa como cidade sem muitas perspectivas sócio-econômicas, marcada por conflitos políticos entre facções, busca na festa do boi uma forma de desenvolvimento, onde a exotização da cultura através dos discursos representacionais presentes nas toadas, temáticas e alegorias de cada bumbá, se inserem dentro do processo de espetacularização da festa. Inseparável disso é o movimento de mundança da própria cidade, o processo de destradicionalização com a valorização dos elementos culturais tradicionais e modernos, reais e potenciais, diante da disputa entre as cidades do interior do Amazonas.
