This thesis focuses on the access farmworkers, both documented and undocumented, have to health care in the United States, in order to make policy recommendations for California. It aims to understand the impact the Affordable Care Act has had and will have on farmworkers in the coming years. Methodology used in this paper relied primarily on interviews conducted over the phone, email and in-person with individuals at the forefront of policy making for farmworkers. Conclusions drawn from these interviews show that increasing outreach that is culturally appropriate is necessary to increase utilization of health care services as is an increase in funding to health centers that help to reduce costs in the health care system as a whole
