The water is then sent to a cooling tower where the\ud latent heat of vaporization is used to cool the water in a counter current\ud flow with air. The water is then sent back to the process area to be\ud used again. The purpose of this project was to design a model cooling system\ud which would approximate the workings of a real system. This system\ud would consist of electric heaters to add the heat load to the system, a\ud water reservoire to hold the bulk of the process water with a continuous\ud water feed and a cooling tower.
