Evaluation of numerical methods applied to the identification of parameters and external perturbations in mechanical systems.

Em seguida, utiliza-se o vetor de estado (em termos de aceleração, velocidade e deslocamento) no processo de identificação de parâmetros e identificação de perturbações externas (forcas) no domínio do tempo e no domínio da frequência em sistemas mecânicos, aplicando o estimador dos mínimos quadrados para os métodos avaliados. Alguns aspectos no processo de busca para monitorar o melhor método de resolução, também serão investigados, quais sejam: critério para escolha ótima do passo de integração, número de ponto adotados no tempo, escolha do sinal de excitação, dentre outros.Deste modo, procura-se avaliar a eficiência destes métodos e verificar aquele de melhor desempenho no processo de simulação numérica. Neste trabalho, foram processadas identificações de forcas em dois sistemas mecânicos: um sistema convencional SDOF (massa-mola-amortecedor) e um sistema MDOF de dois graus de liberdade, constituído do conjunto eixo-mancal hidrodinâmico. Para tanto, duas formulações foram utilizadas no processo de identificação, a versão discreta no espaço de estado e a versão continua no domínio do tempo proposta e sugerida pelo professor orientador (Oliveira, N. V.). Dos resultados apresentados, fica bastante evidenciada a possibilidade de aplicação dos métodos de Newmark, Diferença Central - com destaque pelos seus resultados apresentados -, Houbolt e Wilson θ no processo de obtenção numérica dos vetores de estado para aplicação na identificação de parâmetros e de forcas em sistemas dinâmicos, considerando que para uma bom desempenho destes métodos fatores como: o melhor critério para escolha ótima do intervalo de tempo de discretização, propriedades dinâmicas do sistema e condição de estabilidade numérica do método, não podem ser desprezados.n this work, the Central Difference, Houbolt, Wilson θ and Newmark types of numeric integration methods are applied in the simulation process of mechanical systems and the results are used in a identification process, which is used to verify and compare their performance with the 4th order Runge Kutta method. Those methods have been applied in the simulation of the physical behavior of a Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) system, which is represented by a mass-spring-damper system, and a Multi Degree of Freedom (MDOF) system, which is represented by the two degree of freedom axis-plain cylindrical journal bearing system. To better analyze the performance of the simulation method, during the search of the best solution for the problem, some internal variables were investigated and analyzed, such as: the integration time-step, the number of points, the choice of the excitment signal, and so on. On the other hand, two types of formulations for the identification process were used: a discrete and a continuous version of the state-space approach. The attained results have shown that the simulation accuracy and performance of the Newmark, Central Difference, Houbolt and Wilson θ methods, when comparing the identified parameters and excitment forces with the ones of the model, are dependent upon the choice of the integration time-step, dynamical properties of the system and numerical stability of the method
