Como o sistema é não linear, este é linearizado em torno de um ponto de operação, usando-se técnicas de perturbação no computador digital . Após a linearização são usados e comparadas diferentes técnicas para determinação das máquinas críticas. Essas técnicas são as seguintes: 1) Técnica usada por F.P. de Mello e outros (1980 ), onde as máquinas são representadas pelo modelo clássico linearizado. 2) Técnica com representação do modelo na forma de Jordan. As máquinas são representadas por modelos que incluem sistemas de excitação. Esta técnica foi sugerida por Lal e Fleming (1980). 3) Uma nova técnica que usa índices de contribuição dos modos na resposta do sistema, onde as máquinas são representadas por modelos que incluem sistemas de excitação. Com esta nova técnica, não só a parte real do autovalor, mas sim toda a contribuição do modo na resposta está sendo levada em consideração, ao contrário dos procedimentos existentes atualmente.0 procedimento é sequencial e utiliza uma ação estabilizante mais significativa e confiável que a usada em O.M. Abdalla e outros (1984).The main objective of this dissertation is to determine a better and more reliable technique for selection of the machines that should bestabilized in a large power system plant. As the system is non linear, this is linearized around an operation point, making use of disturbance techniques in a digital computer. After the linearization, diferent techniques are used and compared for determining the critical machines. These techniques are the following: 1) Technique used by F.P. de Mello and others (1980), on which the machines are represented by a linearized classic mode 1. 2) Technique with model representation in Jordan's configuration. The machines are represented by models that include excitation systems. This technique was sujested by Lai e Fleming (1980). 3) A new technique that makes use of modal contribution index in the system response, on which the machines are represented by models that include excitation systems. In this technique, not only the real part of the eigenvalues but all the contribution of the mode in the response is taken into account, what is the opposite if we compare it to the procedures existent nowadays. The procedure is sequential and makes use of a stabilizing action more s i gn i f i catj_ ve and reliable than the one that is used in O.H. Abdal la and others (1984)
