Compósitos de polipropileno contendo teores de carga de 10, 20,30 e 40%, em peso, foram misturado s à frio em misturador Henschel e em seguida por tamboreamento em misturador tipo "V. A mistura resultante foi processada em extrusora de rosca única e posteriormente triturada no moinho de facas. A moldagem dos corpos de prova foi realizada por injeção. Os produtos foram caracterizados por análises térmica (Calorimetria Diferencial de Varredura), física (índice de fluidez e dureza), mecânica ( ensaios de tração, flexão e resistência ao impacto) e por análise morfológica. Os resultados mostraram que a resistência ao impacto dos compósitos aumentou com a concentração de TTS ( triisostearoil isopropil titanato) diluído, o que foi confirmado pela análise morfológica. A adesão polímero-carga melhorou com tratamento de carga com TTS diluído, em relação ao não diluído, sendo verificada uma adesão melhor quando se utilizou partículas maiores de atapulgita. O tratamento da carga com TTS diluído não afetou a dureza dos compósitos, bem como o módulo de flexão, em relação ao TIS não diluído. A resistência à tração não sofreu alteração com o tratamento da carga com TTS diluído em relação ao TTS não diluído.The effect s of incorporation of a mineral filler treated with a titanate coupling agent on the properties of isotactic polypropylene were evaluated. Polypropylene composites with filler levels of 10,20,30 and 40% by weight: were mixed at room temperature in a Henschel mixer and also in mixed of "V" type. The resulting compound was processed in a single screw extruder and finally grinded in a mill. The test specimens were made by injection molding. The products were characterized by means of thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry, physical analysis (melt flow index and hardness), mechanical analysis (tensile,flexural and impact tests) and morphological analysis. Results shown that the impact strength of composites increased with the increasing rate of diluted TTS, wich was corroborated by morphological analysis. The polymer-filler adhesion was improved with the filler treatment with diluted TTS, comparing with non - diluted TTS. The adhesion was improved with bigger filler particles. The filler treatment with diluted TTS did not affected the hardness properties of composites, as well as the flexural modulus, comparing with non-diluted TTS. The tensile strength did not suffer any modification with the filler treatment with diluted TTS and comparing with non-diluted TTS
