This thesis argues that domestic violence policies and laws within the United States and\ud with specifications in California, must be revised and re-envisioned to meet the needs of\ud the people. The domestic violence legislation, law enforcement, and polices should not be\ud standardized and must change with growing and changing communities. With a feminist\ud lens and framework I analyze domestic violence laws, cases, legislation, funding, and\ud social outcomes from specified laws and policies. I examine how domestic violence laws\ud such as Mandatory Arrests and Restraining Orders affect domestic violence cases and\ud individuals in terms of race, class, sexuality, gender, and citizenship
