Why is there, almost always, in a class of at most 12 students, one that, even making greater effort, cannot keep up with the learning of their classmate? Pedagogy, teaching method, are they the only factors responsible for the acquisition of a second language? Would they be, then, the only factors to be questioned when there are difficulties in the learning of a second language? Investigating factors of the unconscious, as conceived by the theory of Freud and Lacan, would contribute with answers to the questions mentioned above? From these questions, so relevant for the teacher to be able to invest on the path that he will follow, aiming to get to understand how he can help his students, we decided to investigate, from the view of psychoanalysis and the analysis of the speech founded by Pêcheux, on students with difficulties in learning a foreign language, signs of unconscious inhibition. It is in the materiality of the language that other senses may be heard in the line of the speech of the subject, showing the linguistic mistake that causes the inhibition. From the analysis made, we can suggest that the french language is a symptom, taking place of significant. In a more specific way we will: a) analyze signs of inhibition in the speech of the student with learning difficulty; b) search for possible causes of the learning inhibition. For that, we have made non-directive interviews with five students, from a private school of the French language, aged between 20 and 46 years old, all with difficulty in learning French. The analysis of the data have been made in the perspective of the French school of analysis of the speech, mostly the third period, as well as of works of Freud and LacanO tema, para essa dissertação, foi escolhido a partir de indagações feitas por professores de língua estrangeira: O que faz com que determinadas pessoas tenham tanta dificuldade em aprender uma língua estrangeira? Por que em uma classe com no máximo 12 alunos há, quase sempre, aqueles que, mesmo envidando esforços, não conseguem acompanhar o aprendizado do colega? A pedagogia, o método de ensino, são os únicos fatores responsáveis pela aquisição de uma segunda língua? Eles seriam, então, os únicos fatores a serem questionados quando há dificuldades no aprendizado de uma segunda língua? Investigar indícios do inconsciente, tal como é concebido na teoria de Freud e Lacan, contribuiria com respostas para algumas das perguntas mencionadas acima? A partir dessas questões, tão pertinentes para que o professor possa compreender seus aprendizes, resolvemos investigar, sob o olhar da psicanálise e da terceira fase da análise do discurso fundada por Pêcheux, em alunos com dificuldade em aprender a língua estrangeira, indícios de inibições inconscientes. Entende-se que é na materialidade da língua que outros sentidos podem ser escutados no fio do discurso do sujeito, denunciando uma equivocidade lingüística fundadora de uma inibição. A partir das análises feitas, de alguns discursos de alunos brasileiros com dificuldade de aprendizagem na língua francesa, podemos sugerir que o francês é apresentado como um sintoma, assumindo o lugar de significante. De modo mais específico iremos: a) analisar no discurso do aluno, com dificuldades de aprendizagem, marcas dessa inibição; b) investigar indícios concernentes às causas da inibição de aprendizagem. Para tanto, foi feita uma entrevista não diretiva com cinco alunos, de escola particular de ensino do francês, com idades de 20 a 46 anos com dificuldade na aprendizagem da língua francesa.
