The article analyses the careers and the political and intellectualcontributions of two Portuguese educators - Rui Grácio andRogério Fernandes - to teaching, research and democraticconstruction. At first, we consider their ideas and actionsregarding teacher’s training. Following, we explore theconceptions about the role of educational history in Portuguesehistorical interpretations. Finally, we identify the sources andthemes that will result in a Luso-Brazilian educational history. Weconcluded that all of them contributed to define the educationalsciences and to disseminate models of teachers’ training thatcombine educational research and political commitments in theprocess of democratic construction of Portuguese school.El artículo analiza...
