The purpose of this action research is to examine the relationship between the specific\ud teaching of the writing process, using the context of Writer's Workshop three days a\ud week for five months, and the increased writing ability of sixteen-second grade\ud English Language Learners. The students' home languages are: Spanish, Somali,\ud Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Filipino. Student writing samples were scored in\ud October, November, and March using an English Language Learner rubric\ud established by the district.
