Among these compounds are the flavonoids (catechin, epicatechin, quercetin, anthocyanins and procyanidins) and resveratrol (3,5,4-trihydroxy-stilbene), which are mainly found in grape products. Several in vitro studies in animal and human models have been demonstrating that these compounds have antioxidant action and improve lipid metabolism.
