The following paper aimed at relating speech disorders and parental speech (parental meaning given to the children), presenting its consequent implications in Speech Therapy Treatments. The basis was a qualitative methodology through Content Analysis. Eighteen pairs of relative/legal responsible-child diagnosed with having Speech Disorder and sent to the Language and Speech Study Center of the Speech Therapy Service at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM).
