This study investigates the correlation between preschool attendance, age and success with the kindergarten math curriculum. The study was conducted with 44 kindergarten students in the 2007-2008 school year. Both qualitative and quantitative research, in the form of a district-created math assessment, parent surveys and teacher observations informed the research and confirmed the researchers predictions. In order to rate student age objectively, all students were given an age that correlates to their entrance in kindergarten. Ages in the class range from 4 years 10 months to 6 years 3 months.
