RAZÃO, SENTIDOS E ESTÉTICA MUSICAL

An old subject of western thought is the possibilitv of a musical language to express the meaning of the world and of the life (the possibilitv of a musical semantics). This paper shows the great moments of this subject, since Pythagoras' thought until the romantic esthetics. I pretend to connect musical esthetics with severaI tendencies of thought. The reference of this paper is the reflection about the reason.A possibilidade da linguagem musical ser portadora de sentidos do mundo e da vida, ou seja, a possibilidade da existência de uma semântica musical, constitui tema no pensamento ocidental, desde a Antiguidade clássica. Este artigo busca pontuar momentos marcantes da trajetória deste pensamento, partindo da escola pitagórica até a estética romântica, visando sempre à interlocução da estética musical com as várias correntes de pensamento, tendo a reflexão sobre a razão como centro referente desse embate
