Children in the autism spectrum disorder can be good decoders, but struggle with comprehension. This project addresses this issue on how can direct reading comprehension instruction increase comprehension for this student population. This project taps on different researched-based reading interventions that are commonly used by proficient readers. It compiles different reading strategies proved to be effective with normally developing children and with children in the autism spectrum. It provides hands on instructional materials of best-practices and researched based interventions used during reading instruction.
