Active methodologies in promoting learning of oral hygiene schools.

Work with school during adolescence, to promote healthy eating habits and oral hygiene, it is a strategy adopted by public and private health systems worldwide. However, the educational process needs to encompass the technical knowledge of the dentist to teaching techniques to succeed and attract the interest of the school. This study aimed to describe an educational activity using active methodology for the construction of knowledge about oral hygiene in school. This is an action research in which became an educational intervention using the methodology of questioning with Bow Maguerez proposed by Berbel. Participated in the school study of 12 full years, enrolled in a school registered in the School Health Program. The educational activity and data collection occurred in the period from August to December, 2015, during school hours in meetings lasting 50 minutes each. For educational activity, followed by the steps of Maguerez arch and playful strategies were used as wheels games, drawings and music. Data collection took place simultaneously to the educational activity through a questionnaire and record of the activities and statements of the school in a field diary. It was also analyzed throughout the material produced by the students, such as drawings and music. Conducted a qualitative analysis of the data through thematic analysis that allowed systematize two core themes: Mobilizing for knowledge and knowledge building for autonomous action. It was found that the students were able to identify the problem in the study, which was the association between oral hygiene, the occurrence of tooth decay and other oral health problems. After this phase, the students identified the key points of your problem: the incipient oral hygiene practice and the use of cariogenic foods. It occurred theorizing, when each point identified was discussed among students themselves, based on information presented in a film and discussions by researchers. Theorizing enabled solution hypotheses were drawn to be applied to reality. It was noticed the participatory involvement of students who were autonomous agents of the construction of knowledge itself, which was made possible through the application of active methodologies. The implementation of this teaching methodology, was an immersive experience in the reality of school and their oral hygiene habits, which allowed the researchers and participants to build knowledge. There was active participation in the learning process, in context, which contributed to the autonomy of school, for oral hygiene and the appropriation of new ways of teaching and to understand the problems of oral health by researchers.A promoção da saúde bucal envolve uma série de ações, nas quais a educação em saúde se apresenta como estratégia de prevenção e intervenção importante. Atuar com escolares na fase da adolescência, para a promoção de hábitos saudáveis de alimentação e de higiene bucal, é uma estratégia adotada pelos sistemas de saúde públicos e privados em todo o mundo. No entanto, o processo educativo precisa englobar o conhecimento técnico do cirurgião dentista às técnicas pedagógicas para obter êxito e despertar o interesse dos escolares. Esse estudo objetivou descrever uma ação educativa utilizando a metodologia ativa para a construção do conhecimento sobre higiene bucal em escolares. Trata-se de uma pesquisa-ação na qual fez-se uma intervenção educativa utilizando a metodologia da problematização com Arco de Maguerez, proposta por Berbel. Participaram do estudo escolares com 12 anos completos, matriculados em uma escola cadastrada no Programa Saúde na Escola. A atividade educativa e coleta de dados ocorreram, no período de agosto a dezembro, de 2015, no horário das aulas, em encontros com duração de 50 minutos cada. Para a atividade educativa, seguiram-se as etapas do Arco de Maguerez e foram utilizadas estratégias lúdicas como brincadeiras de rodas, desenhos e músicas. A coleta de dados ocorreu de forma simultânea à atividade educativa por meio de um questionário e do registro das atividades e das falas dos escolares em diário de campo. Também foi analisado todo o material produzido pelos escolares, tais como: desenhos e músicas. Procedeu-se a análise qualitativa dos dados por meio de análise temática que permitiu sistematizar dois núcleos temáticos: A mobilização para o conhecimento e da construção do conhecimento para a ação autônoma. Verificou-se que os escolares foram capazes de identificar o problema em estudo, que foi a associação entre higiene bucal, a ocorrência de cárie e demais problemas de saúde bucal. Após essa fase, os escolares identificaram os pontos chaves de seu problema: a prática de higiene bucal incipiente e o uso de alimentos cariogênicos. Ocorreu então a teorização, quando cada ponto identificado foi discutido entre os próprios escolares, com base em informações apresentadas em um filme e nas discussões pelos pesquisadores. A teorização permitiu que fossem traçadas hipóteses de solução a serem aplicadas à realidade. Percebeu-se o envolvimento participativo dos escolares que foram agentes autônomos da construção do próprio saber, o que foi possível por meio da aplicação das metodologias ativas. A implementação dessa metodologia de ensino, foi uma experiência de imersão na realidade dos escolares e dos seus hábitos de higiene bucal, que permitiu aos pesquisadores e participantes a construção de conhecimento. Houve participação ativa no processo de aprendizagem, de forma contextualizada, o que contribuiu para a autonomia dos escolares, para a higiene bucal e para a apropriação de novas formas de ensinar e de perceber os problemas da saúde bucal por parte dos pesquisadores
