Teatro maquiaveliano e religião: considerações e análises sobre as peças teatrais de Maquiavel e a religiosidade de seu tempo.

This paper analyzes the work of the "playwright" Niccolò Machiavelli. The thinker composes a trio of comedies that begin around 1517, with a version of Andria by Terence, and finishes in 1524 with Clizia. Written in between, La Mandragola places him in the roll of the great authors of the Italian theater of Renaissance. Afterwards, the paper seeks to highlight aspects in these works, which are related to the theme of religion. All the excerpts which make any kind of direct or indirect mention to religion or religiosity are selected, and then an analysis is made pointing to three main directions: a first, which would be that of the daily Christian religion of Italy and which we call “everyday God” or “everyday divinity”; a second, which points to Machiavelli's sympathy for the religion of the Romans and for the "fortuitous" reality imposed by Fortune rather than the "always-right" tracks of Divine Providence; and, third and last, we seek to give attention to the criticisms of the Roman Church present in the plays, whether direct or indirect.O presente artigo faz uma análise da obra do “dramaturgo” Nicolau Maquiavel. O pensador compõe um trio de comédias que se inicia por volta de 1517, com uma versão de Andria de Terêncio, e termina em 1524 com Clizia, sendo que, escrita entre as duas, La Mandragola o coloca no rol dos grandes autores do teatro renascentista italiano. Em seguida, o trabalho busca destacar aspectos, nestas obras, que tenham relação com a temática da religião. São selecionados todos os trechos que fazem qualquer tipo de menção direta ou indireta à religião ou à religiosidade, fazendo-se então uma análise apontada para três direções principais: uma primeira, que seria aquela da religião cristã quotidiana da Itália e que chamamos de Deus quotidiano ou divindade quotidiana; uma segunda, que ajuda a demonstrar a simpatia de Maquiavel pela religião dos romanos e pela ideia de uma realidade “fortuita” imposta pela Fortuna frente aos trilhos “sempre certos” da Providência Divina; e, em terceiro e último, busca-se dar atenção para as críticas à Igreja Romana presentes nos textos, sendo elas diretas ou indiretas.
