North Star Quest Camp for teen girls: needs assessment

Project (M.S.W.)--Humboldt State University, Social Work, 2013Resources for teen girls in the Humboldt County area appear to be very limited. Both\ud adolescent and teen years may be viewed as a ???window of opportunity??? in which teens\ud can engage in skill-building experiences, and safe, healthy risk-taking, particularly in a\ud respectful and encouraging environment. In Humboldt County, many teen girls, their\ud parents, and adults who work with teen girls have expressed a perception that there are\ud not enough resources of support for the teen girls in the region. The purpose of this\ud project is to evaluate the present resources, and conduct a needs assessment via a\ud secondary data analysis in order to create a curriculum for North Star Quest (NSQ)\ud Spring Break Camp that will attempt to meet this unfulfilled need
