A história, e as histórias, em algumas cartas de Ernest Hemingway na Paris de 1920

Ernest Hemingway became a writer in Paris in the 1920’s. The style of the future Nobel laureate was forged in the French capital, where he moved at the end of 1921. At the time, Paris was the heart of modernism and attracted major artists, which allowed Hemingway to keep contact with a cultural broth that shaped his training as a writer. This paper investigates the letters written by Hemingway in the first three months of his Parisian stay, contained in the first volume of his collected correspondence: The Letters of Ernest Hemingway - Volume 1, 1907-1922. The theorical basis is taken from French historian Michel de Certeau and Brazilian expert in epistolography Marcos Antonio de Moraes. The goal of this paper is to carry out a historical recovery of the period, examining the literary system, determining the relationships established by Hemingway and remembering the places mentioned in the correspondence.Ernest Hemingway tornou-se um escritor em Paris na década de 1920. O estilo do futuro laureado com o Nobel forjou-se na capital francesa, para onde ele se mudou no final de 1921. Na época, Paris mostrava-se o coração do florescente modernismo e atraía os principais artistas, o que possibilitou a Hemingway entrar em contato com um caldo cultural que amoldou a sua formação como escritor. Este artigo investiga as cartas escritas por Hemingway nos três primeiros meses de sua estada parisiense, que constam no primeiro volume de sua correspondência reunida: The Letters of Ernest Hemingway – Volume 1, 1907-1922. A partir de pressuspostos do historiador Michel de Certeau e do especialista em epistolografia Marcos Antonio de Moraes, realiza-se uma recuperação histórica do período, acionando bastidores do sistema literário, tecendo apontamentos sobre as relações travadas por Hemingway e rememorando os lugares citados na correspondência
