O Balanço Social (BS) e a Demonstração do Valor Adicionado (DVA) possuem a função de ajudar as empresas a prestar contas das suas ações de ordem financeira, econômica, social e ambiental. As empresas procuram formas de evidenciar suas ações relacionadas com a Responsabilidade Social, mas será que isso é o suficiente para ajudar na sustentabilidade do planeta para gerações futuras? Nesse contexto, o objetivo geral desse estudo é investigar como estão sendo evidenciados os investimentos ambientais, em termos quantitativos, das empresas que participam do Programa em Boa Companhia da Bovespa, por meio do Balanço Social e da DVA, no período de 2009 a 2010. A presente pesquisa, em termos metodológicos, caracteriza-se como descritiva, quanto aos procedimentos é documental, com abordagem quantitativa. Com as informações colhidas observou-se que a distribuição do valor agregado está direcionada para os Impostos e Pessoal. Por fim, evidencia-se que a amostra de empresas que participam do Programa em Boa Companhia da Bovespa poderia contribuir de forma mais ativa em prol dos assuntos ambientais e sociais.Companies in the current conjecture in the world economy, are increasingly concerned about their evidencing social and environmental actions in order to demonstrate before their users, their policies related to sustainability. The Social Balance (BS) and the Value Added Statement (DVA), have a role in helping firms to provide accounts of their actions in financial, economic, social and environmental. Companies looking for ways to show your actions related to social responsibility, but is this really enough to help the sustainability of the planet for future generations? In this context, the general objective of this study is to investigate how they are being shown the environmental investments of companies participating in the Program in Good Company's Bovespa, through the Social and the DVA in the period 2009 to 2010. This research, in methodological terms, it is characterized as descriptive as to the procedures is documentary with a quantitative approach. With the information gathered showed that the distribution of value added is directed to the Tax and Personal. Finally, it is clear that the sample of firms that participate in the Program in Good Company Bovespa could contribute more actively in support of environmental and social issues
