Para tanto, toma-se como referência o resultado de pesquisa de dissertação de mestrado2, que mostra o processo de construção do discurso do jornal Zero Hora (ZH) sobre as mudanças climáticas e, com o objetivo de ampliar a reflexão sobre essas construções, estende-se o estudo, através de uma análise formal e discursiva3, para os enunciados4 sobre esse tema, que foram manchete de capa das revistas Época e Veja. A análise mostra como as formas simbólicas5 são selecionadas e empregadas, assim como indica que tanto o discurso das revistas, como do Zero Hora, apoia-se nos mesmos valores notícias, de seleção e construção, onde alguns fatos são omitidos e outros realçados, conforme os interesses que permeiam esses discursos. Aponta a relação existente entre essas representações midiáticas e outros campos, sobretudo o da educação.This article elucidate how the media tells and represents the imaginary of environmental disasters. For this, take as reference the results of dissertation research, which shows the construction process of the discourse of the newspaper Zero Hora (ZH) on climate change and, with the objective of broadening the debate on these constructions, extends the study, through a formal and discursive analysis, to the statements on this subject, which were front-page on news magazines Época and Veja. The analysis shows how symbolic forms are selected and used, and indicates that both the discourse of magazines such as the Zero Hora, is based on the same news values, selection and construction, where some facts are omitted and others highlighted as interests that underlie these discourses. It points out the relationship between these media representations and other fields, especially education
