Leadership and resistance of women in the speech of Paul in 1 Corinthios 11 and 14.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Keila Carvalho de Matos.pdf: 4436654 bytes, checksum: ea94e3531e89155ee3c4249f2c2d73d4 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2004-12-10This research proposes a dialog between Linguistics and Theology, the Sciences of Religion that use interpretative methods in textual analysis of the speech and feminist exegesis, investigates the pericopes 1 Cor 11, 2-16 and 1 Cor 14, 33b-35 to clarify what Paul wanted to transmit in his letters concerning the questions of use and customs and ministry of women, respectively. The main purpose was to retrieve women’s voices in their leadership and resistance process in Corinthios in the 1st Century. The dissertation was divided into three chapters. The first exposes the theoretical fundamentation by means of unrestricted use of concepts by the two sciences in the interpretative history of texts, dialogism and polyphony, of Linguistics, exegesis, feminist hermeneutics and fundamentalism of theology embracing still, as a basis, the concepts of gender, culture, symbol and ideology as support, according to Anthropology and Sociology. In the second, presents a brief account about Paul, Corinth and women’s situation in the 1st century, to verify the context in which were written the pericopes under study. In the third, it’s developed the exegesis and analysis of the texts, investigating intra-textual, inter-textual and extra-textual factors, by means of a deconstruction and (re)reading , considering neo-testamentary biblical texts and, also, extra-biblical sources, with comments on the state of the question of each pericope. Yet, it is presented the readings of texts performed by some churches, considering or ignoring their contexts. Finally, it’s by now closed the discussion with the argument that 1 Cor 11, 2-16 and 1 Cor 14, 33b-35 are linguistically contradictory and theologically circumstantial and not normative.Propõe-se nesta pesquisa a um diálogo entre Lingüística e Teologia, Ciências da Religião que utilizam métodos interpretativos em suas análises textuais. Por meio da análise do discurso e da exegese feminista, investiga-se as perícopes 1 Cor 11, 2-16 e 1Cor 14, 33b-35 para esclarecer o que Paulo quis transmitir nas suas cartas em se tratando de questões de usos e costumes e ministério de mulheres, respectivamente. O intuito principal foi resgatar vozes de mulheres nos seus processos de protagonismo e resistência em Corinto no I século. A dissertação foi dividida em três capítulos. No primeiro, é exposta a fundamentação teórica, valendose de uma (e)fusão de conceitos utilizados pelas duas ciências na história interpretativa de textos, dialogismo e polifonia, da Lingüística, exegese, hermenêutica feminista e fundamentalismo, da Teologia, abordando ainda como embasamento os conceitos de gênero, cultura, símbolo e ideologia, segundo a Antropologia e a Sociologia. No segundo, apresenta-se um breve relato sobre Paulo, Corinto e a situação da mulher no I século para averiguar o contexto em que foram escritas as perícopes em estudo. No terceiro, desenvolve-se a exegese e a análise dos textos, investigando fatores intratextuais, intertextuais e extratextuais, mediante uma desconstrução e (re)leitura, considerando textos bíblicos neotestamentários e também fontes extrabíblicas, com comentários sobre o estado da questão de cada perícope. Apresentamos ainda a leitura que algumas igrejas fazem dos textos levando em conta ou desconsiderando o seu contexto. Na conclusão, encerra-se por ora a discussão argumentando que 1 Cor 11, 2-16 e 1 Cor 14, 33b-35 são lingüisticamente contraditórios e teologicamente circunstanciais e não normativos
