The Divine Eternal Father Pilgrimage in Trindade City of Goiás: permanencies of the tradition on the modernity. 1970-2000.

For that, initially, it was done a description of the Divine Eternal Father devotion, which discus the origin of the medallion, relating it with Trindade s City formation and the arrival of the believers (missionaries) to this city. There was a concerning to demonstrate the strategies of Pilgrimage s tradition preservation, above all related with the mechanism utilized by the Catholic Church to its continuity. It was specially tried to demonstrate the transformations suffered by Pilgrimage in the 1970 s and 1980 s decades, when it got in evidence the crises provoked exactly through these modernized transformations, revealing at the same time, the permanence of the popular s traditions. For the comprehension of the crises, the Pentecostalism in Brazil was contextualized, too. Finally, the decade of the 90 s was emphasized as a period of Pilgrimage s apogee and it was tempted to approach this religious phenomenon at the discussion about the globalization. The bibliographical and documentary researches were done at the Catholic Church archives and at the local press. It was used an observation participant, too, which permitted the follow up of happenings and events that self revealed surprising to this analyses.Esta dissertação enfoca as transformações ocorridas na Romaria do Divino Pai Eterno, bem como a permanência da sua tradição, no decorrer do processo. Para isso, foi, inicialmente, feito um histórico da devoção ao Divino Pai Eterno, o qual se discute a origem do medalhão, relacionando-o com a formação de Trindade e a chegada dos redentoristas a esta cidade. Houve uma preocupação em evidenciar as estratégias de preservação da tradição da Romaria, relacionadas, sobretudo, aos mecanismos utilizados pela Igreja Católica para sua continuidade. Procurou-se demonstrar especialmente as transformações sofridas pela Romaria nas décadas de 1970 e 1980, quando entrou em evidência a crise provocada exatamente por essas transformações modernizadoras, revelando, ao mesmo tempo, a permanência das tradições populares. Também foi contextualizado, para a compreensão da crise, o avanço do pentecostalismo no Brasil. Finalmente, enfatizou-se a década de 1990 como um período de apogeu da Romaria e procurouse abordar esse fenômeno religioso na discussão sobre a globalização. As pesquisas bibliográfica e documental foram realizadas nos arquivos da Igreja Católica e da imprensa local. Também foi utilizada a observação participante, que permitiu o acompanhamento de acontecimentos e eventos que se revelaram surpreendentes para a análise
