It is the product of the artist just as the the tree is a product of nature. My objects possess a flat back, suitable for hanging on the wall with a sculptural front. This relief surface utilizes light to heighten the tactile sense of the observer, as it casts shadows, emphasizes transparent forms and describes glossy or dull surfaces.The shape of the object evolves out of the response which I, the artist, feel in reaction to the manipulation of materials.
