The teaching of Portuguese language : contributions of a literacy project with school newspaper

O ensino de língua portuguesa, principalmente na modalidade escrita, não pode estar desvinculado das práticas sociais e de uma formação voltada à emancipação e à formação cidadã do aluno. Assim, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo refletir sobre o potencial da perspectiva do letramento à melhoria da relação ensino e aprendizagem em língua materna ao elaborar e aplicar um projeto de letramento com o propósito de produzir um jornal escolar em uma turma do 9º ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública periférica da cidade de Londrina-PR, no período de agosto a setembro de 2017. Essa pesquisa-ação tem como objetivo específico a análise das possíveis contribuições do referido projeto ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem da modalidade escrita, assim como o estudo de alguns gêneros discursivos necessários à elaboração de um jornal como possibilidade de ampliar a participação social do aluno por meio da escrita. Para tanto, este trabalho tem como base os documentos oficiais que regem a educação brasileira, especificamente no tocante ao ensino da língua portuguesa, tais como os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (1998) e as Diretrizes Curriculares Estaduais (2008); os Estudos do Letramento, segundo Street (2014), Kleiman (1995, 2000, 2005, 2006a, 2010), Soares (2001); e dos Projetos de Letramento, com base em Tinoco (2008); o trabalho com jornal escolar, segundo as concepções de Faria (1996, 1997), Freinet (1974). Também há a assunção da concepção sócio-histórica da linguagem baseada em Bakhtin (2003), considerando que as práticas sociais devem orientar o ensino da língua materna no contexto escolar. Para a análise dos dados, foram utilizadas, além da descrição e reflexão do processo, algumas matérias jornalísticas produzidas pelos alunos, assim como os diários de aula (ZABALZA, 2004) escritos pela professora-pesquisadora. Como resultado, observa-se que pensar no ensino a partir das práticas sociais colabora para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem, uma vez que a produção dos gêneros do jornal (BONINI, 2014), relacionada a questões dos alunos e da comunidade, conferiu maior sentido no momento da produção. Esta proposta de intervenção proporcionou aos alunos momentos de elaboração de textos autênticos, com aplicabilidade e função social dentro do contexto escolar, contribuindo ao desenvolvimento da escrita enquanto prática social, assim como a conscientização desses agentes da função da linguagem na organização da sociedade.The teaching of Portuguese language, especially in written form, cannot be separated from social practices and a formation focused on emancipation and the citizen's formation of the student. Thus, the present work aims to reflect on the potential of the literacy perspective to improve the relationship between teaching and learning in the mother tongue when designing and applying a literacy project with the purpose of producing a school newspaper in a class of 9th grade of a public school in the city of Londrina-PR, from August to September of 2017. This action research has the specific objective of analyzing the possible contributions of this project to the teaching and learning process of the written modality, as well as the study of some discursive genres necessary for the elaboration of a newspaper as a possibility to increase the student's social participation through writing. In order to do so, this work has as basis the official documents that rule Brazilian education, specifically regarding the teaching of the Portuguese Language, such as the National Curricular Parameters (1998) and the State Curricular Guidelines (2008); the Studies of Literacy, according to Street (2014), Kleiman (1995, 2000, 2005, 2006a, 2010), Soares (2001); and the Literacy Projects, based on Tinoco (2008); the work with school newspaper, according to the conceptions of Faria (1996, 1997), Freinet (1974). There is also the assumption of the socio-historical conception of language based on Bakhtin (2003), considering that social practices should guide the teaching of mother tongue in the school context. For the analysis of the data, besides the description and reflection of the process, some newspaper contents produced by the students, as well as the class diaries (ZABALZA, 2004) written by the teacher-researcher were used. As a result, it is observed that thinking about teaching based on social practices contributes to the teaching-learning process, since the production of the genres present in newspaper (BONINI, 2014), related to student and community issues, made greater sense at the time of production. This intervention proposal provided students with moments of authentic text production, with applicability and social function within the school context, contributing to the development of writing as a social practice, as well as the awareness of these agents of the function of language in the organization of society
