This paper describes a project to develop guidelines for the use of Dublin Core metadata cataloging\ud for an online exhibition created for the Getty Research Institute for the History of Art\ud and the Humanities. In addition to using the Dublin Core to provide cataloging for the exhibition,\ud we are attempting to develop guidelines for the use of the Dublin Core that can be applied to\ud online resources throughout the programs of the J. Paul Getty Trust
