Religious studies and electronic information: a librarian's perspective

The field of religious studies has seen an abundance of computerbased\ud tools and publications during the last few years. Bibliographic\ud databases, full-text databanks, and electronic Bibles are in many ways\ud changing the face of biblical and theological studies. Librarians,\ud according to a recent survey, see themselves as facilitators to electronic\ud information in religion, but actual figures from theological libraries\ud suggest that academic departments and computer centers may be\ud competing with libraries for the right to disseminate religion-oriented\ud electronic texts. This article surveys the broad range of electronic\ud informational resources in religious and theological studies and\ud discusses the impact that these tools may have on theological\ud librarians
