Sociology Annual Assessment Report to the College 2010-2011

Describes the Sociology Department's assessment activities for the academic year 2010-2011.The Sociology Department's annual assessment report to the College for the Office of Academic Assessment. The report details the development of a Test Back of questions in the following areas: General Sociology, Statistics, Research Methods, Sociological Theory, and Option Areas. The Test Bank was created so that it could be tapped into in future semesters to assess student learning on an ongoing basis. The report also details a cross-sectional study in which student learning was measured at two points in time, when students first came into the major (and have taken only a few introductory courses), and when students are about to exit the major, and have completed all required sociology courses
