Youth Media Editor - KDOL TV / Muse Video

My masters project is a body of video and multimedia work that I helped high school students produce for KDOL TV, the Oakland Unified School District's educational TV station. Through an internship at the Media Enterprise Alliance, I led class sessions and worked side by side with high school students in the OUSD to create video content for KDOL’s youth news show, In the Know: News of Oakland and the World. I also conceived and in Spring 2011 produced a new youth-focused show for the network, called Muse Video. The TV show (and the website, musevideo.net) is an experiment in storytelling, a format designed to engage young people in urban communities with the news through music
