Thesis (M.A., Education (Curriculum and Instruction)) -- California State University, Sacramento, 2013.The purpose of this work is to determine what reasons fourth grade students choose independent reading books, and what quality and characteristics these books have.\ud Sources of Data\ud This information was obtained through interviewing 18 fourth grade students after a trip to the school library.\ud Conclusions Reached\ud Through the study I found that many students choose books that were part of a series that they had previously read.
