Some characteristics of the Chinese in Indonesia

As early as the sixteenth century the Chinese immigrant had come to Indonesia, first in small numbers, but increasingly thereafter until the Chinese constituted a significant ethnic minority in the twentieth century. This study is a historical descriptive analysis of the Chinese community under two contrasting policies in Indonesia, one in the colonial period, and one in the post colonial period.Social Scienc
