Executive functions (EFs) are neuropsychological constructs that help individuals perform complex, future-oriented actions that are necessary for successful performance of activities in academic and employment settings and in social interactions. Research on children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) demonstrates that deficits in EFs are linked with a variety of functional impairments.
