Breast cancer is the most common cancer of women worldwide and the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the United States. Despite new therapies that show efficacy in treating the primary tumor there is a significant lack of therapies that treat metastasis, the most common cause of death. This deficit underscores the necessity for a new perspective in the study of breast cancer metastasis.
