This is a proposal to encode the Vai script in the international character encoding standard Unicode. The script was published in Unicode Standard version 5.1 in March 2008. The Vai script has been used to write the Vai language, which is spoken in western Liberia and eastern Sierra Leone. It was developed in the 1830s.
