Nothing to amplify : : towards a conceptual framework for the performance of the absent body

This text will examine the lineage of performance art and its relationship to the bodies of both the performer and viewer in order to define an alternative to dominant modes of performance art production, which utilize the Explicit Body and the Mediated Body.
