High-resolution imaging modalities play a critical role for advancing biomedical sciences. Within the last decade, x-ray induced luminescence imaging has emerged and demonstrated great potentials for the molecular imaging of small animals by combining the high-spatial resolution of conventional x-ray imaging and the high measurement sensitivity of optical imaging.
