 Abbasid period is a golden period in the Islamic history due to its political, social and literary development. In this age many uloom and fnoon were developed and a big number of books from the Greek and Indian literature was translated into Arabiclanguage,Physical and Natural science.Astronomy, Zoology, Medicine, Logic, Philosophy, Arithmetic, Language along with religious Literature and Jurisprudence etc. So new types of uloom and fnoon became its part.The history tells us about a large number of encyclopedias in the age of Mumalik and Turkish rule.So it was the name as the age of encyclopedias and literary collections. Abu al-Nasar  Muhammad bin Turkhan al-farabi[D-339 A.H.] was first and foremost who composed his encyclopaedias" Ihsa ul-uloom'' and  then came Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Yousaf al-Khwarizmi [D-378 A.H] composed his famous book' 'Mafatih-al- Uloom'' and then  Ibn al-Nadeem Muhammad bin Ishaq[D-386 A.H] compiled his book ''al Fahrist''.After him the said scholar Jamal al-Din Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Watwat[D-718.A.D.]Composed his great encyclopaedias''Manahij -al-Fikr wa Mabahij-al-Ibar'' He was very much interested in Arabic Literature from his early age like the most of people in that time. It was the period of Mumaliks in Egypt.He wrote a number of books in Arabic Literature. But his great encyclopedia is very much famous as it deals with in the following article; I have tried to narrate its main features along with the life history of the writer.&nbsp
