It was the purpose of this study to review a number of court cases as a means of determining what the attitude of the court is in Texas with regard to the use of corporal punishment by teachers. With regard to this study, answers to the following questions were sought: What legal provisions exist in Texas with regard to the use of Corporal Punishment by teachers? What attitude have the courts in the United States generally taken regarding the use of corporal punishment? What limitations, if any, have been established in Texas on the use of corporal punishment?
