Evaluación ecográfica del útero en vacas lecheras mestizas posparto con y sin ternero al pie en sistemas de ganadería extensivos de producción.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the differences in uterine involution and the restart of ovarian activity between a group of 10 bovine females with live calves and another of 10 dead calves by using ultrasound, demonstrating if it negatively influences this process. The animals were selected in an age range of 3 to 5 years, which were clinically evaluated in order to rule out pathologies that prevent the study from being carried out and therefore alter the results; for this evaluation of the ovarian structures, gynecological check-ups were performed at 21 days ± 3; at 41 days ± 3 and at 61 days ± 3. At the first gynecological check-up, the study groups did not show significant differences in the follicular structures, showing class 1 follicles; while a comparative analysis based on the results of the study between gravid and non-gravid horn indicates that there is a difference in the measurements; at the second record, class 1 and class 2 follicles are evidenced in the two study groups; it was also shown that there is uterine involution (UI) given that the size of the cervix, gravid and non-gravid horn presented similar measurements; the time to restart ovarian activity is evidenced in the group of cows without calf with class 3 follicles, from 61 days on at the third gynecological check-up. It is evidenced that Uterine Involution is similar in the group of bovine females with and without live calves; while, in the restart of ovarian activity, there is a significant difference; as cows with calf follicles remain with Class 1 and 2 to 61 days, demonstrating that breastfeeding inhibits resumption of LH pulses through tactile, visual and olfactory stimulation.El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar mediante el uso de ecografía las diferencias en la involución uterina y el reinicio de la actividad ovárica entre un grupo de 10 hembras bovinas con ternero al pie y otro de 10 sin ternero al pie, demostrando si este influye de manera negativa en este proceso. Los animales se seleccionaron en un rango de edad de 3 a 5 años, que fueron valorados clínicamente con el fin de descartar patologías que impidan realizar el estudio y por ende alteren los resultados; para la evaluación de las estructuras ováricas se realizó chequeos ginecológicos a los 21 días ± 3; a los 41 días ± 3 y a los 61 días ± 3. Al primer chequeo ginecológico los grupos de estudio no presentaron diferencias significativas en las estructuras foliculares mostrando folículos de clase 1; mientras que al realizar un análisis comparativo basados en los resultados del estudio entre cuerno grávido y no grávido se indica que existe diferencia en las mediciones; al segundo registro, se evidencia folículos de clase 1 y clase 2 en los dos grupos de estudio; también se demostró que existe involución uterina (IU) dado que el tamaño de cérvix, cuerno grávido y no grávido presentaron medidas similares; el tiempo de reinicio de actividad ovárica se evidencia en el grupo de vacas sin ternero con folículos de clase 3, a partir de los 61 días en el tercer chequeo ginecológico. Se evidencia que la Involución Uterina es similar en el grupo de hembras bovinas con y sin ternero al pie; mientras que, en el reinicio de actividad ovárica, existe una diferencia significativa; dado que las vacas con ternero permanecen con folículos clase 1 y 2 hasta los 61 días, demostrando así que el amamantamiento inhibe la reanudación de los pulsos de LH a través de la estimulación táctil, visual y olfativa
