The purpose of this study was to research how teachers and students in a total of two schools believe that working with matrices works in history teaching. The survey method was through semi-structured interviews with a total of six teachers and twelve students distributed in these two upper secondary schools. By interviewing people who are active in the environment, I am considered to gain deeper insights into how successful working with matrices is. Method for interpreting the answers from the interviews was the hermeneutic interpretation method which is a scientific orientation where the researcher searches for meaningful phenomena and where interpretation is the main method.
