The conversion of biomass into energy or products with higher added value is of increasing economic importance in order to substitute fossil resources or to develop new innovative industries. In this respect, the residues of the agri-food industries appear as materials of choice in these conversion options. As lignocellulosic materials, with heterogeneous molecular compositions, it is sometimes complex to target the most efficient way of valorization.
